Chef Vincent Francoual — who routinely tops the
lists compiled by the local media on talented chefs — will be preparing a
five-course French dinner with wine pairings at his Minneapolis “Eat Street”
establishment, Vincent A Restaurant, Sunday, October 29, starting at 5 p.m.
Le Gourmet Soiree 2006 is a fund raiser for the Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter
of Les Dames D’Escoffier.
Proceeds from the third annual event will go to
scholarships for female culinary students, plus a donation to the Escoffier
Foundation and Museum of Culinary Arts in Villeneuve-Loubet, France.
The elegant dinner — in the spirit of Escoffier, a French chef
credited with elevating and romanticizing the role of chefs — will be
accompanied by live music from the Chamber Music Society of Minnesota, featuring
its artistic director Young-Nam Kim. Tickets are $150 each ($55 per ticket is
tax deductible). In addition to great food and entertainment, a live auction
will reward participants with a rich assortment of culinary gifts and events,
including a cooking class and lunch for six with Chef Vincent to wearable art.
(We will accept cash or checks only.)
Each guest will also take home a complimentary copy of “Bistro Chicken” by the
renowned cookbook author and Francophile, Mary Evans.
